Maybe now I can find information to help me with breaking through a few brick walls. After all, the online sites have been continually updated and I’m hoping there will be new information available.
Breaking Down Brick Walls
Breaking through a few brick walls.

For years now, I’ve spent the vast majority of my time setting up, working on, modifying, optimizing and posting to my blogs. This also included setting up a genealogy database site for my family’s genealogy. The vast majority of the images and documents attached to individuals and sources have been uploaded and attached within the Blythe Database. Feel free to download anything you need.

At present, I’m completely happy with all of my blogs and I am spending more of my time and attention on my own family research. A past email from a distant relative brought my attention to an error regarding the parentage of Mary Elizabeth (Keefer) Blythe in my database. I realized that this error had occurred because I had not clearly identified a problematic connection and it was later assumed to be correct. I have since corrected this error. Searching for records to verify the new connections has inevitably drawn me back into the genealogy research.

Some problematic areas I am concentrating on are:

Priscilla Mellanson and Pierre ‘dit Laverdure’

Christian W. Keefer

  • Finding the parents of Christian (Chester) W. Keefer, born in 1811 in Pennsylvania (one record states Philadelphia) and married to Mary Ann Jaques, daughter of Henry Jaques and Elizabeth (Betsey) Porter. Originally it looked like his family was that of Jacob Keefer in Antrim, Pennsylvania, but this possibility has since been eliminated as Jacob’s son Christian was born in 1812, married Anne Royer and settled in Maryland. This conclusion is supported by the recorded birth date of Jacob’s son as 1812 and evidence that he was also in Maryland at some point. A previous post gives details about my research.

Thomas Blyth and his wife Mary Ann or Mary.

  • Find the last name of the wife of Thomas Blyth. Thomas was born in 1791 in South Somercotes, Lincolnshire, England. Records I have found show her given name as Mary Ann or Mary, and her birth as about 1804 in Greetwell, Lincolnshire, England.
